Dualistic Echoeswill be presented in Neu/Now online festival in Estonia, November 2011. This is my final dissertation and choreographic work, investigating the psychological state of phobia, ones reactions and how to overcome it. Resulting in an installation mixing mediums such as visual art, movement, sound and sculpture. Choreographer Karolin Kent, Performer Sarah Armstrong, performed at Laban, May 2011, Deptford, London, ´Trauma seems to be much more than a pathology, or a simple illness of a wounded psyche; it is always the story of a wound that cries out, that addresses us in the attempt to tell of a reality or truth that is not otherwise available. This truth, in its delayed appearance and its belated address, cannot be linked only to what is known, but also to what is unknown in our very actions and our language. ´ (Caruth as cited in Johnson, D. 2010 p 91.)

Ongoing photographic project. Reflecting the idea of human separation of nature. Humans who are a part of nature as they are an animal creature where its natural features could be merged in nature environment. Inspired by thoughts around Paganism

C_E is a development of my solo piece Off the map addressing the same issue but in a relationship between two people. How intimaty can be the most powerful element that breaks the facades and brings out humanity and vulnrability. The creative process is based on improvisation. Keeping it a structured improvisation gives the movement an unique honesty, rarely experienced in set performance. I have been working with improvisation tasks through visualization, personal experience and complex movement tasks. It is difficult to separate oneself from the movement and the emotions as it is the starting point. This emotional honesty rarely fills a dancer and I believe that honesty can only be kept by keeping it improvised and allowing a continued exploration within once emotion and movement. Dancer and performance artist

This choreography exposes the idea of a facade of perfection whilst inner chaos is tearing you apart. This is seen in the system of the society as well as in individuals. It becomes a struggle to keep the image/ facade without distraction. It is a struggle that you carry with you until you lose the facade or chose to step out of it. A photographic project once again inspired by the investigation of 'off the map' By putting an individual in a limited space would restrict its movement possibilities and in some sense it also suggesting security. These restrictions could equally indicate a safer environment where, as seen in this case, full insight of the individual’s actions gives safety for the rest of the society; contained and controlled. I ´ve been taking photos for as long as I remember and developed it further by courses, mentoring and self exploration. This is some of my digital work however I did some analog work as well.
